Calling all prospective and current doctoral students, recent doctoral graduates and supervisors. You are warmly invited to join us at this year’s in-person Adventures in Posthumanism doctoral event.
With Moten and Harney, we would like to consider ‘study’ as a collective, social, and often informal practice of thinking and working together.
As a 'fugitive' activity, 'study' can occur within or alongside the University, whilst at the same time resisting neurotypical approaches and confinement within its neoliberal demands. We see 'study' as something ‘more than’ - what Manning might describe as involving 'parapedagogies of resistance'.
Asking ‘what if’ and ‘what else’, this is a day to make connections, develop relationships and create networks within a community of writers, scholars and researchers who all want to explore how we might do doctorates differently.
Participants are asked to share their experiences of doctoral study and supervisory practices, and to consider what it might mean to research your way.
If you would like to offer a provocation to promote discussion on the day, please include (brief) details when you register.
This event is free to attend and will take place on Tuesday, 2 June from 10.00-16.00 in Rolle 605. Light refreshments provided.
.
& Registration closes on Monday, 4 May 2026.
