Emily Pinn is the 2026/27 President for the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business at the Â鶹Æƽâ°æ Students’ Union. Having completed both her undergraduate and masters degrees in education, she is extremely passionate about social justice and inclusion within educational landscapes. During her time as a student, she has been an active member of the Students’ Union, working part-time in the Communities team alongside her studies, as well as founding the Women’s Health and Wellbeing Society in 2025.
She has a wealth of research experience, and has worked on various projects across the University, including exploring the experiences of commuter students, which has resulted in several published papers, and a 10-day internship addressing the support needs of students experiencing the menopause. Her award-winning undergraduate dissertation examined the lived experiences of students who have a sibling with a life-limiting condition, and is currently in the process of being published. Her masters thesis focusses upon the impact that menstrual literacy can have upon young people’s experience of university.
