We recognise that faith and belief can be an important part of student life and wellbeing. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where students of all faiths and beliefs feel welcomed, respected, and supported.
Â鶹Æƽâ°æ is a relatively small and well-connected city, making it easy to access a wide range of faith communities and places of worship. Many faith organisations are located close to the University and are easily reached on foot or by public transport, helping you connect with local communities and continue your faith practice while studying. 
 

Student faith and belief societies

Â鶹Æƽâ°æ students have access to over 100 societies. They help connect you with others who share your passion.
All societies at the are student led. Joining any one of them is a great way to make the most of your university experience, meet new people, learn new things, explore your passions and have fun.

Spaces for prayer, reflection or meditation

On campus

There are dedicated prayer and reflection spaces, providing a quiet and respectful environment for prayer, contemplation, and personal reflection.
Â鶹Æƽâ°æ Campus:
1 Kirkby Place, between 10:00 am –22.30pm.
Reflection room on the 2nd floor of the library, room 225. Open 24/7 term time and reduced hours during holiday times. 
North Campus:
John Bull Building (Derriford) Family Room/Prayer Room
Exeter Campus:
Richmond Building, The Exeter School of Nursing, Topsham Road – Room FF05
Truro Campus:
Hospital chaplaincy space, tower block, Treliske Hospital.

LGBTQIA+ inclusive faith communities

If you are seeking both faith and LGBTQIA+ affirming communities you can speak directly with faith leaders about their approach to inclusion. 
While some faith organisations publicly identify as LGBTQIA+ inclusive, others may hold a range of theological perspectives while still seeking to provide a respectful and welcoming environment for all. 
There are some Â鶹Æƽâ°æ churches that actively welcome and support Christians of all sexual orientations and gender identities, creating spaces where individuals can practise their faith in an environment of respect, dignity, and belonging. Explore our list of LGBTQI+ ally churches.
