Representatives from the Â鶹Æƽâ°æ have helped to launch Team Â鶹Æƽâ°æ. The collaboration draws together key organisations across the city with the aim of ensuring residents of Â鶹Æƽâ°æ and the wider South West region benefit from its new role as a National Defence Growth Area.
Earlier in September, Â鶹Æƽâ°æ was one of five key national defence growth areas to be announced in the UK Defence Industrial Strategy.
Now the key players of what was Growth Alliance Â鶹Æƽâ°æ have formally launched Team Â鶹Æƽâ°æ and a plan to capitalise on unprecedented levels of investment and interest in the city’s role in defence.
The partners in Team Â鶹Æƽâ°æ include the University, Babcock International Group, the Ministry of Defence, Â鶹Æƽâ°æ City Council, and City College Â鶹Æƽâ°æ.
They were among over 100 delegates – including ministers, regional MPs and top civil servants – who attended the event at the Market Hall in Devonport and heard about the ambitions of a programme that aims to build long-term capability and prosperity.
