The new facilities were one of the biggest draws to the programme. It’s such a luxury to be able to transition from theoretical teaching into a practical within the same room. Having these specialist spaces for such a practically driven course and vocation was a big draw.

Physiotherapy placements

Placements are an integral part of our physiotherapy programme providing you with the opportunity to develop and apply the theoretical knowledge and skills you have learnt to a range of clinical settings and graduate with a broad range of clinical placement experience.
Learn to work in diverse practice settings, including neurological, respiratory, musculoskeletal, and sports rehabilitation, in a variety of health care settings. Our innovative, enquiry-based learning approach means that you learn from ‘real-life’ clinical scenarios that reflect conditions that physiotherapists see.
You must complete a minimum of 1000 placement hours in line with HCPC and Professional body regulations. This is split into 5 placements interspersed throughout the programme; a 5-week and 6-week placement in year 1 and three 6-week placements in year 2.
This approach allows you to apply knowledge and skills learnt in University to practice and bring back newly acquired skills relevant to the practice setting to support your learning in academic modules.

The programme here really made me feel prepared to enter the world of work as a fully qualified physiotherapist.

By the time I got to my last placement I didn’t even really feel like a student anymore, being able to work completely independently and take charge of my own workload. It’s kind of amazing thinking back to my first placement, just how timid I was and how much I've grown over these two years.

I always felt like I had the potential to make an impact and make a difference in people's lives.

"My placements were incredibly well-rounded, which meant I picked up a wide range of experiences. You receive support and build relationships which help you settle into a new team when you start employment."
