  • Yes, for security purposes, you will need to install the application to access the eduroam Wi-Fi network.

What data is collected/gathered by the Marvis Client app on my personal (BYOD) device?

  • No additional data is collected by the Marvis client applications compared to the previous user-based authentication. The Marvis Client apps are only used for onboarding and delivering/managing the certificates used to connect to the eduroam Wi-Fi network.
  • During deployment, the Marvis Client apps have been set to not gather any telemetry data. The app will require your University username in order to generate the necessary certificate, and will create an eduroam profile in the Wi-Fi settings of your device. This profile will then default to using the new certificate to connect to eduroam when it is available.
